Our Story

In our backyard, Katoa and I embarked on a journey to create something truly special—a diverse and productive edible garden that sustains our family and nurtures our community. Inspired by the challenges of the COVID-19 period, with limited shipments reaching Rarotonga, we decided to take matters into our own hands and cultivate our own food source. So, in 2020, amidst uncertainty, we planted the seeds of our vision—a garden that would not only feed us but also nourish the land and foster community resilience.

Driven by a passion for regenerative gardening and a commitment to the environment, we immersed ourselves in learning about the soil food web and the principles of sustainable agriculture( practices). Through trial and error, we discovered the beauty of diversity, planting a rich tapestry of fruits, vegetables, and medicinal plants that thrive in harmony with nature.

Our vision extends far beyond the confines of our own garden. We eagerly welcome community groups and Non-Government Organisations who share our passion for gardening into our space. We do so by hosting workshops and being a hub for exchanging insights and tools for sustainable gardening, and the sharing of knowledge of sustainable gardening practices. This empowers our community to cultivate their own green spaces with confidence.

By choosing regenerative gardening, we not only ensure a sustainable food source for our family but also contribute to the protection and preservation of our beloved enua (land) for generations to come. Join us on this transformative tour and be part of our mission to cultivate a healthier, more resilient future for all.
